Jeremy Gardner's Cup Winning Endless Bikes Cannondale CAADX

Cannondale CAADx Powered by Endless Bike Company

Jeremy had a hell of a season, dominating the Single Speed category at the Sportif Coaching Group’s Sportif Cross Cup and coming in 4th in the Super Series Cup chase as a bonus. Jeremy grabbed the champion’s jersey early in the season, and rode away with it with win after win down the line for his second Verge Leaders Jersey on board his rim-brake equipped, alloy Cannondale CAADX singlespeed. Let’s take a closer look at this wild bike from title sponsored team rider Jeremy’s cup winning SSCX bike.

Endless Stoke! MUSA Singlespeed Drivetrain

This year, like last year, Jeremy has been running an Endless Bike Company drive-train for both gravel and cross. Endless Bike Company is a small, woman owned business out of Asheville, NC that specializes in USA made singlespeed and 1x chainrings and cogs. Jeremy’s bike runs an “Odd-1” 39t single speed-specific chainring and a collection of different sized “Kick-Ass Cogs” for cross and gravel - choosing a 16t option for this cross season. Pretty in pink of course, "for the discerning single speeder.” Like many aluminum or carbon cyclocross bikes, single-speed-ability has been unlocked with an eccentric bottom bracket and press fit bearings.

Starting and Stopping

Jeremy’s bike is instantly identifiable by the “limited edition rick/morty decal pack, straight from Guangzhou.” Jeremy’s Rick and Morty sticker-covered fork may be the signature detail on this bike, but when it comes to accouterment that’s not all this bike has going on. Jeremy rolls on tubulars for cyclocross, with a unique set up we will allow him to describe in his own words:

“I use older Enve tubulars, they may be pre-Enve when they were [using the namebrand] Edge. The rear is a Challenge Baby Limus and the front a Challenge Grifo bass-ackwards [Jeremy ran it reverse tread, but flatted at Bikenetic CX] but then Tufo Flexus Primus after the Bikenetic flat. Basically i bought all of these cause they were the cheapest new tubulars on eBay at the moment. Also, i use Effeto Mariposa tape, not glue. several races i did with my Reynolds tubular (997 grams?!) wheelset which i mounted new Vittoria Terreno Dry. awesome tire. unfortunately the Reynolds are not very wide at all, so the tape does not work as well with low pressure.”

To get the most stopping power possible on the carbon braking surface, Jer goes with TRP V brake calipers and tried and true (and also North Carolina sourced) Cane Creek levers. For starting grid sprints, the bike is equipped with a striking set of Crankbrothers candy pedals which match to a gold KMC chain. To finish off the kit, the bike’s bars are wrapped in sponsor sourced Fizik bartape - itself a matching accessory to the pink drive-train.

Going the Distance on a Single Speed Cyclocross Bike

In addition to bringing home the Sportif Cross Cup jersey, Jeremy rode this bike to top 5 finishes at Monster Cross Richmond, The Croatan Buck Fifty, Hilly Billy Roubaix, and The Gravel Race Up Spruce Knob this year. what a monster! Congrats on an amazing season, JerBear!
