Late-Season Update

Up and down the mid-Atlantic members of team Great Eskape have been tearing it up - all the while making plans for post-cross season. As we get down to the last couple races of the season (Bikenetix for most of us, with a smattering of entries into Bike Doctor CX) it's becoming a more appropriate time to start waxing philosophical about the deeper meaning of sport, sports(wo)manship, and collective suffering.

Just kidding. Here is a picture of Alex B. kissing a fish instead.

If Kevin had written this post you might have actually gotten something meaningful here.

We've had a great season. Dylan and Alex have both found their way onto the podium a number of times, Edrie has had a career season, Kevin owns the mid-pack, and I have succeeded in my season goal of "sucking less." We've also made a lot of new friends and added a bunch of new team mates. First year Great Eskape racer Addison is second only to Dylan in race starts, including his first single speed race, Edrie finished in the top 25 for the Super 8 Series standings, and Dylan finished 3rd overall for men's 4 in Super 8 and added a runner up DC state championship to the mix.

In addition to final team palmarès for 2017, we will have a lot of exciting news to share after the season ends. Off-season plans include the upcoming 2018 gravel season, some pretty epic bike-packing trips, and maybe a Great Eskape sponsored race.
