Coffee Outside

Great Eskape and Zeke’s Coffee DC take our Coffee Outside every-other-Friday from March to November at 7am. #Coffeeoutside has been a team ritual since we started, and our friends at Zeke’s Coffee DC supply us a custom Great Eskape coffee blend for the occasions.

We typically do this every other week and when you join us it is strongly encouraged you bring everything else you need to make your coffee outside (a mug, a camp stove and fuel, a small cookpot, a filter stand and number two coffee filters or a french press, and water.)
Great Eskape doesn’t recommend any particular products, but you can check out this Amazon cart here for inspiration.

When and Where…

We usually leave from the Capital Crescent Trail-head in Georgetown, DC at 7 am every other Friday and travel a half-dozen miles down the Crescent and C&O Canal trails to the Great Eskape club house on the bank of the Potomac River.

We tend to enjoy our coffee until about 8:30 am. This is not a sponsored or guided event, and there is no fee or registration - it’s just something that we do and we love it when our friends (new or old!) join us, so you have to accept full responsibility for your safety and comfort. We usually go with tire widths of at least 30mm for travel on the C&O gravel trail. In the event of heavy rain, storms, extreme cold, or high water levels #CoffeeOutside will be moved to either the Merchant Marine Memorial or Coffee Inside at the Zeke’s Coffee DC location downtown. We will announce location changes on our Instagram.
